Schools:
The district operates 14 attendance centers. Rich with history, several school buildings date back to the 1920's. In 2001, the district opened the new Dodge City High School.  The $49 million facility is one of the largest high schools in the state of Kansas.  In August of 2012, the former Comanche Intermediate Center opened as a second middle school for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. The nine
elementary schools have been reorganized to accomodate kindergarten - fifth grade.

•       1 Early Childhood Center


Employees:

Dodge City Public Schools is the third largest employer in Dodge City, Kansas. The district employs 1,305 people, including full-time, part-time and substitutes:

       443 licensed personnel

•       679 support staff (includes classified, clerical and food service staff,          bus drivers, teachers aides, and custodians)

•         35 administrators and 17 exempt

•           3 resource officers

•       131 substitute teachers

Student Enrollment:

The enrollment numbers are for kindergarten through 12th grade:

      2014 - 2015 enrollment - 6,648 students

      2013 - 2014 enrollment - 6,759 students

      2012 - 2013 enrollment - 6,793 students

      2011 - 2012 enrollment - 6,670 students

      2010 - 2011 enrollment - 6,258 students

iPad Initiative:

For the past year, teachers have been piloting an iPad
Initiative with the goals of preparing 21st Century learners,
personalizing learning for each student and empowering
students as life-long learners. The district is currently
implementing a 1:1 initiative and by January, 2014, there
will be an iPad in the hands of every USD 443 student.
